The Fall of Atlant

In Greek myth, the Titan Atlas went to war with the Olympian gods and lost. Instead of banishing him to Tartarus, Zeus enslaved him to hold the earth on his shoulders for all eternity, so that Gaia could never form a primordial bond with Tartarus.

Atlas never accepted the weight, and he tried to escape it many times. This piece imagines the moment the burden finally ends: the Titan coming apart, fragment by fragment. Until I, sadly, reduced him to nothing.
